From Tuesday, January 31 through Friday, February 3, a group of 12 UGA PRSSA members and two AdPR faculty attended the annual Washington, D.C. Agency Tour. This tour is exclusive to UGA PRSSA members to tour top agencies.
The PRSSA members toured the American Red Cross with the communications director.
The group arrived on Tuesday night and started the tour with the American Red Cross, Finn Partners/Widmeyer Communications, and Edelman on Wednesday. By Thursday, the students and faculty received the incredible opportunity to sit in on a press gaggle at the Pentagon before heading to Golin and The Glover Park Group. That night, the students attended an alumni mixer reception.
On Friday, the UGA PRSSA members shadowed at MSLGroup, Lockheed Martin, Amgen, the House, Powell Tate, Golin, ISL Group, Porter Novelli and Ogilvy to wrap up the end of the tour.
“The Washington, D.C. tour opened my eyes to the opportunities in another city. As a senior, I’m looking forward to exploring different cities and the PR industry,” said Maggie McNerney, PRSSA PR Director.
